The Natural History Museum, in Cromwell Road, South Kensington, houses 80 million specimens and is the world’s most important natural history collection.

The central entrance, the Hinze Hall, has a spectacular cathedral like structure, with gateways leading on to the collections and galleries. The museum is divided into four zones, and its famous dinosaur specimens and exhibits are in the Blue Zone.

The Red Zone covers the powerful forces of nature that shaped our planet, the Green Zone explores the relationship between life forms and their environments, and the Orange Zone  is home to the Darwin Centre, where you can see scientists at work, and the Wildlife Garden (open between April 1st and 31st October) Each zone has its own cafe, and there are three shops selling selling nature inspired gifts.
